I watched as the first morning of this New Year
slipped softly into focus through my bedroom window.
New snow... on top of old snow...
a dusting of a million tiny diamonds reflecting the light.
The view from my lens could not begin to capture the beauty
I could see with my eyes...
like fairy dust.
Magical... I said out loud.
As my room began to brighten
I looked heavenward just as the light of the sun
began to escape from behind the Winter clouds.
I watched as sunlight stretched forth to welcome the new day
and I felt peace and assurance.
A new day,
a New Year...
with so much promise.
Oh the possibilities!
God is in his Heaven
and all will be right in the world.
Let's be like a million sparkling diamonds
reflecting HIS light.
Let's be like a million sparkling diamonds
Your words are always so inspiring, they make us the readers, have a better and more fulfilling day. I enjoyed the photos of the diamond dust snow. It is always a delight to see, like you said, magical. Your window view is truly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLovely New Year thoughts Carolyn...a Happy and Blessed New Year to you and your family!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Donna.
ReplyDeleteCarolyn, your snow storm was just as lovely as ours. I don't normally like winter, but for some reason the added snow this year is striking me as beautiful, and not nearly as bad as usual.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and enchanting.... there's a magic about the sparkling snow that is hard to describe unless you've felt it!
ReplyDeleteI think my old camera could see more sparkles. The digital ones just see white squares. It's wonderful that we can see so much beauty and remember it ,even if the camera can't.
ReplyDeleteYou caught some great shots. That first big snow is always so lovely. After it hits though I'm tired of snow for the whole Winter season. :)

We love to wake up to fresh snow... otherwise our world begins to look dirty and haggard. Been snowing a little each day for more than a week... beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWow, you really captured the sparkles! Sometimes my eye sees them, but my camera just doesn't do the scene justice. But yours is spectacular! Happy 2013!
ReplyDeleteIt is a bit of a trick, I waited for the light to be just right. Even then, it doesn't do the scene justice. Happy 2013 to you!
