Grandchildren are like Sunbeams
in my Garden of Life...
Two more tiny hands
Two more tiny feet
As Spring began we were expecting four new grandbabies...
and they have all now safely arrived!
and they have all now safely arrived!
That's a whole lot of sunbeams shining in my garden!
♥♥♥
Has a garden,
Old fashioned and quaint
As can be
The flowers so rare,
That none can compare,
'Neath the plum and apricot
And cherry tree.
♥
Would you like me to
Show you the garden?
Then follow me now
And we'll go
'Round the old grape-vine arbor,
Back of the walk,
Where the birds and the butterflies
And flowers grow.
♥
I belong to
My grandmother's garden,
I was picked
From the family tree;
So out in my grandmother's
Old fashioned garden,
If you come there
You will find me."
*A few verses from a favorite childhood song of mine.

Dear Meredhuit, What a delightful posting which captures so well the innocence of the newly born and the pleasure which one derives from them. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteOh My! Meredhuit, What a grand matron your are! So many to love... melts my heart. I love the drawing ... is it over a photo. How many children do you have? Your lovely post makes me feel lonely somehow. What a sweet and dear family you have. Enjoyed the poem too. ;>)
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful! Congratulations to you and all of your family on the safe arrival of the new little ones. Grandchildren are such a precious gift. I was with one of my grandson's recently and he told me that he loved me "more than trains." Ah, such joy!
ReplyDeleteI want to hear the tune. What is this song? Where can I find it? I do a "Musical Heritage" unit in my music appreciation class where that song would be a perfect opener!
ReplyDeleteHow darling your little flowers are! Many congratulations on your delightful garden of grandchildren!
